The Lab Box · Batch 001
The Lab Box · Batch 001A visualization: the exact treats vary by box and shipment. Each ships sealed in the makers' own packaging.
Your cat will lose their mind.
Choose their study. We curate about a month of the best-rated treats that qualify for it, and their results arrive monthly, one lab report scoring every treat.
Which box fits your cat?
Each box is built around one clear rule, like grain-free or chicken-free. Four high-scoring, full-size treats that pass it, one to open a week, each explained in the report.

Off the Hook
Fish-free cat treats
"turns their nose up at anything fishy"
Real-meat treats built on poultry, rabbit or red meat, screened fish-free on the label. So much of the cat aisle leans on fish, which makes a genuinely fish-free treat hard to find.
See the detailsHide the details
- No fish or seafood, anywhere (fish meal, fish oil, salmon, tuna, whitefish out)
- Built on poultry, rabbit or red meat
- Every pick high-scoring on the rubric
Our #1 most-searched cat box. Exact picks are a surprise, revealed the day it lands.

Against the Grain
Grain-free cat treats
"meat first, skip the fillers"
Meat-forward picks with the grains screened off the label, protein up top. For the cat whose bowl should read like a butcher's list, not the cereal aisle. Corn, wheat and rice just bulk out a treat, so we screen them out and let the meat do the talking.
See the detailsHide the details
- No corn, wheat, rice, barley or oats
- Meat-forward, protein up top
- Every pick high-scoring on the rubric
Our #2 most-searched cat box, right behind Off the Hook. Exact picks are a surprise, revealed the day it lands.

Cluck Off
Chicken-free cat treats
"reacts to chicken, fine with everything else"
Any protein but chicken. It's one of the most common things cats react to, so we cut the whole landfowl family (chicken, turkey, quail) and leave the rest of the menu wide open: rabbit, duck, beef, lamb, fish, whatever scores.
See the detailsHide the details
- No chicken, turkey or quail (all landfowl)
- Everything else is fair game: rabbit, duck, beef, lamb, fish
- Cross-checked against our ingredient database, ambiguous animal-derived ingredients out too
Exact picks are a surprise, revealed the day your box lands.

Liquid Lunch
Hydrating lickable cat treats
"the vet keeps saying 'more water'"
A whole box of high-moisture lickables, broths and purees. The polite con that gets water into a cat who treats her water bowl like a decorative accent she never approved.
See the detailsHide the details
- High-moisture lickables, broths and purees
- Squeeze-tube picks that add water at snack time
- A hydration boost that fits right into your vet's plan
Exact picks are a surprise, revealed the day your box lands.

Jurassic Purr
Novel-protein cat treats
"bored stiff of the same old chicken"
Proteins your cat has probably never met: rabbit, duck, quail, venison, wild boar, kangaroo, ostrich and more. A different one every shipment, always full-size, never a teaspoon tasting. Built to remind the little tiger, deeply over chicken and tuna, that she is technically an apex predator.
See the detailsHide the details
- A different full-size wild protein each shipment: rabbit, duck, quail, venison, boar, kangaroo, ostrich or more
- A protein most cats have never tried
- Single animal protein, screened on the label
Protein rotates each shipment, so not for a cat on a fixed single-protein plan. Picks are a surprise.

Against the Grain
Grain-free dog treats
"grain-free, done right"
Named for the search, built for the science. Most "grain-free" treats are legume-loaded, and legumes (not grains) are the ingredient at the center of the FDA's ongoing DCM questions, so this box cuts both.
See the detailsHide the details
- No grains (corn, wheat, rice)
- No legumes or pulses (peas, lentils, chickpeas) and no potato
- Named meat and named fats only
Our #1 most-searched dog box. Exact picks are a surprise, revealed the day it lands.

Cluck Off
Chicken-free dog treats
"reacts to chicken, fine with the rest"
Any protein but chicken. It's one of the most common things dogs react to, so the landfowl (chicken, turkey) go and the rest of the menu stays wide open: duck, beef, lamb, pork, fish, you name it.
See the detailsHide the details
- No chicken or turkey (landfowl)
- Everything else is fair game: duck, beef, lamb, pork, fish
- Cross-checked against our ingredient database, ambiguous animal-derived ingredients out too
Exact picks are a surprise, revealed the day your box lands.

Reel Deal
Salmon & fish dog treats
"can't get enough salmon"
Salmon and whitefish out front, the fish your dog actually wants. For the dog who'd trade any treat in the drawer for something that came out of the water.
See the detailsHide the details
- Fish-forward: salmon, whitefish and more
- Any texture that makes the cut, from jerky to freeze-dried to lickable
- No red-meat filler sneaking in
Exact picks are a surprise, revealed the day your box lands.

Jurassic Bark
Novel-protein dog treats
"bored stiff of beef and chicken"
A different wild protein every shipment, always full-size, never a teaspoon tasting. We go deep: venison, bison, wild boar, kangaroo, elk, ostrich, alligator and more. Built for the dog who has eaten everything in the pet store and filed a formal complaint.
See the detailsHide the details
- A different full-size wild protein each shipment: venison, bison, wild boar, kangaroo, ostrich, alligator or more
- A protein most dogs have never met
- Single animal protein, screened on the label
Protein rotates each shipment, so not for a dog on a fixed single-protein plan. Picks are a surprise.

The Glow Up
Skin & coat dog treats
"the itch and the dull, flaky coat"
A coat box is more than fish. We load omega-3 from every angle (oily fish, green-lipped mussel, flaxseed) and strip the triggers that keep the scratching going: chicken, beef and dairy. That combination, not fish alone, is what the coat is after.
See the detailsHide the details
- Omega-3 from oily fish, green-lipped mussel and flax
- Chicken, beef and dairy off the label
- Supports skin and coat through diet, not a treatment for skin disease
Exact picks are a surprise, revealed the day your box lands.

Every pick comes with its receipt.
No guesswork. One report ships in every box: it states the rule, lists every product, and shows the reason each one earned its place, with your cat's name on top. Here's an example, the exact picks vary by box and shipment.
- The finding. The one line a shopper in the aisle can't produce: what the box excludes, from named chicken and poultry ingredients (chicken, chicken fat, poultry meal) plus ambiguous animal-derived ones like animal digest or unspecified natural flavor, checked against our full ingredient database, every name they hide under.
- The study rule. The box's one rule, in plain terms, so you can see exactly what "Reel Deal" or "Cluck Off" really means.
- Every specimen, scored and dated. High-scoring on our rubric, stamped with the month it was scored, so a later re-score never makes an old card wrong.
- Your pet, by name. So the report reads as theirs.
- Rate it back. Tell us the hits and next month's box leans toward them.

The taste panel
Chaired by Poppy, chief cat taste tester, who has never once recused herself. Your cat's ratings are the peer review: every thumbs-up teaches the next box.
Chaired by Lilly, our Great Pyrenees head of dog testing, all 100 pounds of her. Your dog's ratings are the peer review: every thumbs-up teaches the next box.
The boxes aren't a guess.
Built from what cat owners actually look for
Since 2024, KibbleLab cat owners have repeatedly searched for chicken-free treats, dental chews, novel proteins and fish-only options. Those patterns shaped the founding boxes.
The filter only we can run
Every candidate is checked against the same ingredient database and scoring rubric behind KibbleLab. For restricted studies, we also screen out ambiguous animal-derived ingredients when their source cannot be confirmed.
Depth before we sell it
Every box clears a variety bar: enough picks and brands to never repeat for months. If a lane can't, we hold it back rather than mail the same thing twice.
The founding panel: 25 cats.
Batch 001 is 25 boxes, hand-packed and hand-numbered. Reserving is open to everyone, but only the first 25 cats get the founder treatment.
Founder pricing, locked
Your founder price is held for the first 25 cats. Reserve now; nothing is charged until you choose to buy.
A report with their name on it
Every box ships with a lab report personalized to your cat, scoring each treat inside.
First say
A feedback link in every box that shapes what the next batch becomes.
Before you reserve.
Is reserving a purchase or a subscription?
No. Reserving is free and no card is required. We'll email you when Batch 001 is ready, with the final price and a checkout link. Your first box is a one-time purchase, and nothing becomes recurring unless you choose that later.
When will Batch 001 ship?
We're targeting early October 2026, around the week of October 6, within a few weeks of the founding panel filling. We'll confirm the exact ship date before asking you to buy.
Can I choose the exact treats?
You choose the box; the exact four picks are a surprise. Every pick has to meet that box's published rule, and all four are listed and explained in your report.
Can I switch boxes, even on a subscription?
Yes. You can change your box any time before you buy the first one. And if you keep going on a subscription, you can switch to a different box between shipments, right up to your next billing date. Your report always matches the box you're on.
Is shipping included?
Yes. The price shown for each box includes standard shipping within the contiguous U.S.
What if something arrives damaged or incorrect?
Contact us within 14 days of delivery and we'll replace or refund any damaged, spoiled, or incorrect items.
Can food be returned?
Because the box is food, shipped boxes generally can't be returned. If there's a problem with an item, contact us and we'll make it right.
What if my cat has a diagnosed allergy?
Our screening is based on the manufacturer's current ingredient label and can't rule out cross-contact during manufacturing. If your cat has a diagnosed allergy or is completing an elimination trial, ask your veterinarian before introducing new treats.
If I subscribe later, can I skip or cancel?
Yes. Future subscriptions can be skipped, switched, or canceled before the next billing date.
