Turnip greens are leafy cruciferous vegetables used in pet foods as a low‑calorie source of fiber, vitamins A, C and K, and minerals such as calcium and potassium, and they also provide antioxidants and other phytonutrients. They can support digestive health and add micronutrients—especially for dogs—but should be used in moderation (and usually cooked) to reduce oxalates and goitrogenic compounds, and should be avoided or limited in pets with thyroid disease, kidney problems, or those on anticoagulant therapy.
