A good pet food story needs three things: the number, the context around it, and a source you can point readers to. Here is how we help with each.

The number

Email us the question. We reply with the figure, the denominator behind it and the date we pulled it, on your deadline, so your fact-checker can verify every word.

The context

We will explain how pet food is regulated, what a guaranteed analysis does and does not prove, and where our data has limits. Quote us or keep it on background, your call.

The source

Every number lives on a public page you can link, backed by a methodology we publish in full. Independent, and free to cite.

Where the numbers come from

Primary sources, standardized once.

The facts start on the label. We transcribe each product's ingredient panel and guaranteed analysis, resolve the many ways a maker writes the same ingredient down to one standardized name, and record the AAFCO statement as printed. Recalls come straight from the FDA feed. Every score sits on top of that, from a published rubric grounded in veterinary nutrition science.
