It offers no meaningful nutritional value for dogs or cats, is generally well tolerated but can cause gastrointestinal upset at high doses, may be ineffective against non‑E. coli infections, and should not replace veterinary diagnosis or prescribed antibiotic treatment; consult your veterinarian before use, especially for diabetic pets.

Bacillus subtilis is a spore-forming probiotic bacterium added to some pet foods and supplements to support healthy gut microbiota, digestion, and stool quality in dogs and cats. It can help with nutrient utilization and immune support, but effects are strain-specific and depend on viability (spores are heat-tolerant); consult your veterinarian before use for animals with weakened immune systems.

Bone broth gelatin is a collagen-derived ingredient commonly used in dog and cat foods and toppers as a palatant, moisture and texture enhancer and binder that contributes collagen-related protein. It provides amino acids such as glycine and proline that may support joint and gut health and hydration, but it is not a complete protein and commercial broths can be high in sodium or contain onion/garlic—so it should complement, not replace, a balanced diet and owners should avoid preparations with added toxic ingredients.

Chicken is a common animal-based protein in dog and cat foods, supplying essential amino acids, B vitamins, and energy-dense fats that support muscle maintenance, growth, and overall health; for cats it also contributes toward dietary taurine but must be present in sufficient amounts or provided via supplementation. It is prized for its digestibility and palatability, though some pets develop sensitivities or allergies to chicken, and nutritional value and safety depend on ingredient quality and processing—raw chicken carries pathogen risks and whole bones can pose choking or GI hazards.
